DETAILS
The CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) denim pullover originates from the brown denim jumper adopted by the U.S. Army in 1908. While some say that brown canvas and indigo blue denim were produced in parallel in 1908, records show that this design was registered as "SPEC6-125" in 1919. Many young people were dissatisfied with pullovers due to the cumbersome nature of putting them on and taking them off, and some even ripped the front or customized them to wear them open at the front. This is a fascinating piece that reflects the sensibilities of the time. The fabric is made from an original denim fabric developed by analyzing denim fabrics of the time. It uses a green cast indigo-dyed warp and off-white weft, devised by Takahashi. While maintaining the same color, the count has been adjusted and an increased thread count has been added, resulting in a 1/2 right-hand twill weave with a rich texture that differs from standard left-hand twill denim.
