DETAILS
This 1930s heavy-weight cotton Henley neck shirt, discovered in NY, was a rare item, differing from conventional underwear sewing specifications. It had no shoulder seams, sleeves were attached straight, and gussets were provided under the sleeves for ease of movement. On the other hand, there were seams at the sides, suggesting that tubular knitting was difficult due to the heavy-weight fabric. The cutting, ingeniously designed to suit the fabric's properties, also resulted in a beautiful design. We researched and reproduced this highly complete cutting. The fabric used is thermal made from organic cotton open-end yarn. It combines the smoothness of organic cotton with the dry texture unique to open-end yarn, providing a comfortable fit.
