DETAILS

1930s denim jackets are characterized by flap patch pockets, which would have been a significant quality improvement in an era of material scarcity. The stitching that fastens the pleats on the front body is also reinforced, increasing the completeness as workwear, and the one-pocket design reached its perfected form. (Explanation of materials for front buttons, rivets, and buckles)

For cotton satin weave, a thick yarn is used on the back side, which does not show, to ensure strength. Military wear from the 1950s used the reverse side as the outer surface, creating products with high strength and abrasion resistance. The unevenness of the yarn, which is not uniform because it is originally the reverse side, is also a distinctive feature. The custom-engraved buttons and back parts are made of iron. They are treated with a smoked plating finish to express the passage of time.
